I used the stock cooler. I had a hyper evo 212 on my fx 8320 that I didn't want to port to my new i7 7700. I really avoid installing things like Hyper evo 212 on the system. I hate those coolers, they're annoying. This works great on my new 7th gen i7 7700 chip. It is very easy to set up and take down, which makes me very happy! He's not loud at all. Just a note for future reference before you get this, it's much heavier and taller than the stock cooler. It's a really high quality cooler and a good option for people who don't like to pull their motherboard out of their case just to install some fancy custom stuff. This is a nice, high-end cooler that just snaps into place. TA DAH! Very beautiful very beautiful.
