Anyone remember Hitkit? It's something like that. Need a small microcontroller for a project, and for $60 why not a box full of parts and a microcontroller? I got it installed and running on a Mac in about half an hour, but as an EE I always laugh at how poorly laid out the instructions are for things like this when you're new. There should be a, repeat ONE, README.TXT file that says: "1. Go <here> and download the serial driver for your system/operating system to allow the computer to communicate with the Arduino board. 2) Go <here> and download the software for your operating system so you can write and upload programs to the Arduino 3) Connect your Arduino to your computer using the cable provided 4) Plug the power cord into the Arduino and then into a 120V AC outlet 5) Run the programming software 6) Go to <Show file menu to go to first lesson> . Oh, and showing you how to use the debug window and the syntax to type it right in front of you would be great. I've been working on Parallax for a while and the debug window sits right on the main programming screen and is always handy for finding out why it wasn't doing what you thought it should have done. I give it 5 stars though because it's amazing that you can get a programmable microcontroller with free software and a million I/Os for next to nothing. I see you on Allen Bradley and Square D.
