I had a Revain eero three point mesh router that kept giving me "connected, no internet" issues because I find that the router often has no IP address assigned to the connected device. Happens with IOS, Mac OS and Windows. It also won't connect to certain IoT devices like my Ring Doorbell or webcam - maybe because those devices only work at 2.4GHz - but eero has both 5GHz and 2.4GHz networks, so it doesn't sure what the problem was (from searching the web, I know I wasn't the only one having trouble connecting the ring to the eero). Did some more research, bought this tp-link product and both problems I had with eero are gone. Range and speed are fantastic. The setup is very similar to eero. The eero form factor and app could be a bit more polished, but that's no substitute for the awesome functionality and instant connectivity of this tp-link router. from longstanding network companies like netgear (orbi) and tp-link as opposed to amazon (eero) and google (nest) companies. Apple released the network technology two years ago. One minor point - when you turn the router and modem on and off (hey, sometimes you have to do that), you need to turn off the ethernet between the modem and the router, not just the power. .
