Although these pants keep me warm in cold weather and I believe protect against road rash and reduce bumps and bruises in an accident, there are thin fabric flaps covering the leg and crotch zippers , get caught in the zipper as usual and make it difficult to put on and take off. Then, when it rained, those pieces of fabric didn't seem to do anything to keep water out! My First Gear jacket worked great, but the rainwater that ran off the front of my jacket seemed to go right through the crotch of my pants. After just a few miles in the pouring rain, I actually sat in a puddle with water dripping down my leg. I'm glad it was just a test drive and I could go home and change. So if you plan on wearing them in the rain, you'll need waterproof overpants.
