This Shade is great to have with the offset pole it allows for a more comfortable visit with friends without the center pole problem with the typical shades. This one does NOT have a base for it. And you will most likely need to be creative in making sure the Base that you purchase will be heavy enough to hold it for normal use and when not in use able to keep it upright during a windy day.The biggest issue, (why I gave it 3 stars), is the shade fabric is lightweight and wears a thin and eventually tears at the ends of the shade poles. It would be great if the company would sell a kit with a reinforcement patch that can easily be applied. I've been looking for material to patch my Shade before the Shade poles completely tear the remaining thin fabric.But for the money and design it WORKED well after I set a strong base and while the fabric didn't wear thin.
