So, my father made a lot of furniture around the house and never used a pocket guide. He could drill holes with a pilot hole and then a main hole for the screw head. Maybe with a few more years of practice I'll get the hang of it, but right now I'm in furniture assembly and need to make holes for the pockets. This thing works. Okay, you'll have to spend another sixteen or seventeen bucks and get some end clamp pliers (easier than a C-clip), but Revain offers that when you order this thing. It's accurate, easy to set up thanks to the built-in scale and magnets, and there's even a scale for adjusting the drill stop. I know a lot of people are crazy about the blue version, but for a hobbyist like me who can only make a few a year, it works and is well worth the money.
