I was looking for brackets for a floating bar I installed in the kitchen. I chose these mounts because they were rated for 100 pounds per mount and I needed something that would actually carry the load. The wall I attached the brackets to is drywall over brickwork. The shelf is 60 inches long and 20 inches wide. I used 3 1/2" construction screws when I installed them. I'm pretty sure I can hang a 100 pound weight on each of the bars. I used a 12" long, 1/2" " Drill to make holes for the pole. The only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is that when I press on the very edge of the tree which is furthest from the wall, it bends a little I suspect this is because the bars are only 6" long. If I had to do this setup again, I would find longer stem brackets to give the shelf some stability. Overall, these brackets are a good buy and do the job best for something probably a maximum length of 15 inches.
