Shawl needles are not suitable for fine yarns or yarns with a thread content, but are suitable for bulky yarns.

I will keep them but I bought them to knit with ribbon and strand yarns and the way they are constructed, tubular and cone shaped, there is one spot where they don't quite match and some of the strand of my yarn gets stuck in there almost every time I pick up a stitch. I can't use them for their intended purpose but with thick yarn they fit. Had I bought them with bulky yarn I might have given them 5 stars.
