I grind my own meat as I prefer certain blends not available in local stores. I usually grind in bulk and then freeze for later use. I've tried several hamburger presses over the years, but this inexpensive press is my favorite. (so that the meat does not stick to the press), put on the press and simply press on. The patties are a uniform size (about 4 rounds x 1.5 inches thick) and stack well for freezing. I bought this press five years ago and it still works well. I especially like this for my ground beef pies since ground beef comes out a little moister than ground beef and tends to stick to my other abs. I added fresh or dried basil and Italian parsley to the meat before pressing, and it's ready to eat when I want a chicken sandwich.
