I bought this because one of my cats is a Houdini with collars - any quick release he gets out of and there goes a collar plus his i.d tag - I thought I’d try this one - I did have to poke another hole as it was too loose on the smallest setting and he weighs about 7-8 lbs. also had to cut off the extra or it is too long- it works great for my 15 lb cat- no new holes needed but still needed excess to be trimmed I noticed another reviewer mentioned a very ligament safety concern which I too encountered .WARNING!.my third cat (weighs about 8 lbs) got his fang tooth stuck in one of the holes -Twice! Kind of scary as his mouth was pried open- luckily I witnessed it happen the second time and quickly helped him get free- The problem is if the collar is too loose ( i again had to make an additional hole so it would fit more snug - and trim the excess) the cat may try to pull it off and can get their tooth stuck in one of the holes which will pry their jaw open- i cut the excess off and with an additional hole was able to make it snug enough this would not happen again - I’m confident he could still escape the collar as it stretches if he accidentally got caught on something - with these remedies it is a decent collar ( stays on yet the cat can escape if needed) and doesn’t fray from the cat scratching like the cloth ones do. The cats have been wearing these for over a month- if there any more safety concerns I will update -
