Review on Advanced GPS Multisport Watch with Wrist-based Heart Rate - Polar Vantage M (Lightweight Design & Latest Technology) by Adam Woods ᠌

Revainrating 4 out of 5

No complaints, I recommend the product for purchase.

This gadget serves as my sole sports tracker. None of the features of a smart watch interest me at all (texting, audio control, etc.). The extended battery life and location tracking capabilities are crucial to me. This works flawlessly in this model, thus I don't think any of the issues you raised are too serious. Of course! This is Polar, not an iPhone, Galaxy, or Honor. Polar has been manufacturing fitness trackers for a lot longer than these cellphones have been around. My data is more reliable than it would be from an Applewatch, which, for no apparent reason, might report that I am swimming while I am merely walking. Generally speaking, trackers are not to be confused with watches.

Pros
  • First, it has a low power usage. If you practice for an hour and a half every other day, you may get by on a single charge for two to three weeks. Polar's FLOW service, number two. Fantastic exercise log that also includes graphs and other helpful statistics. Thirdly, the GPS/Glonass is quite precise. Rapidly and precisely locates the user. You can customize the sampling rate in the training mode settings.
Cons
  • For a beginner, the transflective screen is still rather effective. 1. Yes, it conserves a great deal of power, but users accustomed to the brilliant displays of the latest iPhones, Samsungs, Huaweis, and other devices with LED, AMOLED, or LCD displays will be profoundly dissatisfied. It may take some time to adjust to the transflective screen. Only in direct sunshine does one see it. The remainder of the time, you'll need to use the backlight button, which is only marginally effective. Incompatible cable for charging devices. Including a micro-USB port would be preferable. Also, you'll need to lug around an extra cable from now on. No matter how you look at it, measuring the pulse with a laser is useless. Not even Polar could work a miracle in this situation. There is a discrepancy of +/- 5-10 heartbeats between the measuring device and the chest sensor. This is really important if you are using heart rate as a training tool. The differences can be as large as 50 beats at times. It's completely inappropriate. Sometimes after a run of 6-7 kilometers, I've noticed this. It's likely that the blood supply to the skin's higher layers, where the laser detects the blood's color, starts to decline, rendering the sensors useless. If the watch is not snugly fastened to the wrist, this identical problem can occur. If the strap is adjusted so that it snugs around the wrist instead of the forearm, the issue disappears. Despite the apparent size of the screen, the diameter of the actual viewing area is smaller, leaving a sizable "dead" zone around the edges. The screen's image is not good because it is based on a poorly considered layout for displaying information. 5. If your tracker says you only have 10% battery life remaining, don't believe it. It's simple for him to misjudge his abilities and give up.
