I have an adult dog that is not very active so I close the gate to let him come and go and it never closes because he doesn't need it. It's about the same size as a regular pit bull and has plenty of room in a medium-sized cage. It's a good size for him and I wouldn't want to put a big dog in it. When I had it outside it was great because it's waterproof and light enough to move around with. To be honest it's too dark there and absorbs heat. So if you're experiencing triple-digit weather, it doesn't help. At the same time, my dog doesn't chew or try to escape from his cage; I would not trust this cage until the dog is completely used to it. I gave it 5 stars because there was no damage, scratches or anything that had come off after moving a whole bunch and putting stuff on it. My dog gets fat in the waist area and he's still hanging tight even though the bottom bars look flimsy. But honestly, if you're buying this, buy it for its looks, not because you need a high-performance cage. Would you like something a little more aesthetic for your patio or something that goes with the chic, minimalist, slightly tropical theme you will be using in your living room?
