Review on SUPER BIRD CREATIONS SB746 Seagrass Foraging Wall Bird Toy - Large Size- Fun Gears - Multicolor - Medium Bird Toy by Mandy Johnson

I bought this for a parrot hoping to teach him how to get food. When I first received it I found it to be much larger than I expected. Small bowls of coconut are several centimeters in diameter. I figured my bird could at least chew seaweed rope. The quality is excellent - it smells a bit like plant matter, but it's soft and not unpleasant. The plastic parts seem to be well made and durable (for small to medium sized birds like parrot, lovebird, kennel). I started teaching her how to use it, just putting fresh vegetables in my bird feeder and putting large and obvious chunks of millet inside. There was so much millet in coconut cups that the lid was sticking out, preventing the plastic lids from sinking. I went to work and came back to the whole floor with millet - success! After a few days, I drastically reduced the amount of millet in each coconut, allowing the plastic "tops" to close up. I was skeptical that my normally lazy bird would work very hard for the seeds, but I certainly get home and the seed pods are strewn all over the place. Since I only feed her vegetables, the seeds can only come from feeding this toy! I am very happy that my bird has learned to forage and I feel better working all day knowing he has something to do!
