We dropped our remote too many times and it started to fall apart and be unreliable. Remembering that replacement remotes cost $30-$50 and up, I was a little apprehensive until I found this device. Worked great, looked identical to the OEM and was cheap. There's no reason not to have it. The only differences from my original are the function keys (I have a Crackle and Tubi that nobody uses; there were other useless functions in it) and the lack of a "clock without a clock" button, which in this case has been replaced with one CC button. I miss that as a shortcut.
