Review on Franluca 16” Wood Magnetic Knife Strip – Powerful Wall Mounted Kitchen Knife Holder, CaddieBAR Premium Wooden Magnet Rack For Knives. by Sam Duppa

Weak Magnets, Beautiful Form

The CaddieBAR is supposed to have extra-strong magnets. I got this one for the garage, intending to hang screwdrivers and pliers on the rack; this one won't even keep them upright (the weight of the screwdriver handle causes them to rotate). My other two inexpensive garage magnetic racks have magnets that appear to be several times stronger, and keep my tools upright.I also tried hanging some of my really heavy Wusthof kitchen knives on the bar. The bar holds them upright, but a slight nudge will cause them to rotate. Other wood-faced magnetic knife bars that I've tried hold knives more securely using very powerful neodymium magnets. At $33, with the magnet strength that it has, I feel that it's overpriced. If you have light to medium-weighted kitchen knives, this rack will serve you well. If you have very heavy large knives (such as the largest chef's knives), the rack may not hold them as securely as you wish.

Pros
  • Works well, looks nice. No complaints.
Cons
  • The magnetic force may not be strong enough to hold larger knives securely
