There is an ad ahead. Detachable parts are NOT dishwasher safe - in fact, when I ran the detachable parts in the dishwasher for the first time, the center tube deformed. Not much, I could still put the blade on it, but just enough to form a distinct oval. I would have returned this item if someone in my family wasn't so excited about a new stand mixer that they threw away the box it came in. Since the device is still usable, I decided to keep it for myself. and always hand wash parts until I need a new food processor. Then I definitely won't buy it again and would rather pay more for something that is actually dishwasher safe. Not recommended.
