Review on π§ S3213 Fuel Water Separator Filter Assembly: Compatible with Mercury & Yamaha Outboard Motors, 10 Micron, Replaces B32013 by Eric Grayson
The factory assembly is too tight.
Like the previous reviewer, I was unable to detach the bowl from the filter by hand. I've installed hundreds of them and have always manually tightened the bowl and filter with no problems. Luckily I was able to place the knot in a vise and very gently unscrew the cup. It's been two months and I'm having the same problem with both separators I bought. In each case, the water drain valve compression seal ruptured and fuel leaked into the bilge.
