Review on 🌬️ Noctua NH-U12DX i4: Premium CPU Cooler for Intel Xeon LGA20xx | Brown Color by Dale Emmel

I bought this to replace a cheaper general purpose cooler for my Haswell 5820 CPU overclocked to 4.2GHz. I encode some HD video and when all 12 cores are used at 100%, the core temperature never exceeded 70C. I thought it was a bit high so I lowered the frequency to 4.0GHz and it stays at around 67C. • Virtually no fan noise. It's quite a large cooler, and instead of having a horizontal orientation, which would likely cause it to partially block a few memory slots, it sits vertically on top of the CPU, almost touching the left side in my NZXT Phantom mid-tower case Blackboard. The hex heatsink mounting screws are easily accessible (with the included long hex wrench) when the fan is removed, which is a very simple process, and installed on my ASRock 2011 v3 board without any included adapters. The package also includes a tube of thermal paste, which is very handy as I didn't have to look for a tube of Arctic Silver. The only downside to this device is that it's not as aesthetically pleasing as some coolers on the market. a very utilitarian approach that suited me, I like my builds to look clean, the jewelry isn't essential but they do what they're supposed to. And very good. Highly recommended.
