Review on Pirelli Ice Zero FR 205/55 R16 94T winter by Vassil Ganchev ᠌

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Overall it's good but I expect more, there are some downsides.

Only one season's worth of experience. Prior to that, I used spikes, but I had never encountered such parasitic consequences as from the softness of this rubber. In the beginning (back in autumn), it was worrisome, and I even tried to pump it over, but this did not change very much. In general, I was pleased with Velcro; nevertheless, I did not prefer this particular type. When I tried other brands with my pals, I did not observe any jokes of this nature. Next year, I might try something different with it. However, if your driving style is reserved (without displaying any negative attitudes), then you are able to take it, and particularly in the snowy conditions it is beneficial.

Pros
  • Noise - overall fine, spikes are still noisier Behavior characterized by self-assurance on winter roads (including slippery asphalt, snowy road, and urban circumstances before the involvement of cleaning equipment). BUT
Cons
  • The rubber functions normally in temperatures below -4 degrees Celsius, but once the temperature rises beyond +4 degrees Celsius, it begins to simply melt (developing a super soft sidewall that has the consistency of chewing gum), the responsiveness of the steering wheel vanishes, and the vehicle might become difficult to manage when subjected to hard braking.
