The only water supply option supplied with this kit is to connect to a faucet. 1/4" compression fittings are not particularly common, especially if you need to connect a water line to a poppet valve or connect to a hose fitting. You could just put a 3/8" straight FIP in the compression fittings to use the cartridge .the braided hose is standard, but to connect it to a standard hose fitting, for example, you have to pay an additional 25.00 for the installation - so the cost of the filter doesn't seem entirely worthwhile.But does the job.
