I've had no trouble getting this adapter to work with a MacBook Pro. It gets very hot, but I didn't see a negative result even after 30 minutes of full throttle. The ability to have both USB-A and C is a plus if you need it. Not me. But here's the thing. I bought this unit at half price along with a competing 2.5G UGreen unit to test both. Aside from the lack of an activity indicator, UGreen is just as good functionally. I have a few other people with MacBook Pros - they won't get this one. One brand may prove to be more durable than another in the future, but there is no sign of that today. It's hard to justify the award.
