I bought this keychain case to replace my broken 2000 4Runner case which broke the key loop. Externally, the case is identical, but inside there are several notches and protrusions that make the circuit board slightly different from the original. Like a bunch of keys, it is still sealed. In the test, however, the reaction of 4runner when locking or unlocking the doors was delayed and triggered repeatedly. To make matters worse, the panic function was triggered randomly. Because the 4runner didn't respond to the key fob, I had to put the keys in the ignition multiple times to disable panic mode. Just to be sure, I put the circuit board back into the original key fob and it worked fine. The key fob's internal discrepancy should put a little pressure on some of the internal buttons, resulting in mixed signals to the receiver in the 4runner.
