Four stars because it had to be modified to work properly in a 1.5 gallon tank. Since the exhaust is too strong (even on the lowest setting) for a 1.5 gallon tank in the Betta housing, I cut a sponge from another filter and stuff it into the exhaust nozzle at the end that connects to the filter housing . The filter sponge included in the kit has a hole in the middle. I filled it with activated carbon and covered it with a piece of sponge from another filter. The air hose was too long for my application so I had to cut it in half. A small feature is that if there is water in the air hose, no water comes out of the outlet nozzle. So make sure that water does not get into the hose during installation, and open the valve of the air hose, otherwise you will not have water outlet.
