Threaded parts will only be finger tight and will leak until disassembled and returned to their original position with appropriate pipe lube or teflon tape. Once that's fixed this is a good gauge as it will hold the pressure to help you confirm. If it hadn't fallen apart when I received it I would have given it 5 stars. I repaired it but didn't send it back. Usually brass has tapered threads since you don't need teflon tape. But they're just threaded. In order for it to stay in the desired position I need to cut the rails to stiffen it.
