No gauge but poor assembly

Threaded parts will only be finger tight and will leak until disassembled and returned to their original position with appropriate pipe lube or teflon tape. Once that's fixed this is a good gauge as it will hold the pressure to help you confirm. If it hadn't fallen apart when I received it I would have given it 5 stars. I repaired it but didn't send it back. Usually brass has tapered threads since you don't need teflon tape. But they're just threaded. In order for it to stay in the desired…

Holds readings when removed from valve

Used the 0-30psi version to check and adjust mountain bike tire pressure for three years. I wrapped the body in a rubber band to provide some protection as it sometimes moves around in the tool box. It is very convenient to stick the valve, and you don't need to read the pressure immediately. Retains the pressure reading until the button is pressed, in fact it is retained for many days. The readings are consistent with my other sensors and are repeatable. Can easily reset the tire to 0.5psi or…

The bad: I had it for a month and .

Cons: I've been using it for a month and a half and the hold-down function no longer works. It still measures the pressure accurately, but the pointer does not stay on the reading when it is removed from the valve as it did when it was first installed. I used this gauge 2-3 times a week to check the tire pressure on my 27.5+ mountain bike before a ride. I keep this gauge at home in the garage so the failure isn't caused by jumping into my backpack on the trail. Pros: Easy to read dial and…

Classic bulletproof design. Ideal for bikes with fat, low pressure tires

I've had one of these for over 12 years but it started giving wrong readings and the pressure relief stopped working. Maybe the rubber has dried out or something (although I've dropped it, lost it in the woods, pushed it around in my bike bag, etc.). Anyway, I'm glad they still make them and that they're built the same way they were back then. No batteries, no digital readers, no LEDs, nothing to interfere with the easy, reliable and repeatable pressure readings for Presta valves.

Pros
  • Very good value for money
Cons
  • Poorly designed

Works as advertised.

Seems to be working fine. Longevity is still unknown but I have high hopes. One caveat: There was a large piece of plastic left over from production in the cylinder that houses the valve stem. It was easily removed with tweezers (I discovered this before using the gauge) but leaving it in place would either affect the accuracy of the reading or completely prevent the valve stem from seating properly. The valve stem insert would likely pinch the plastic there very badly, so be aware of that…

ATTENTION: Works but sensitive aperture!

First I wrote a very negative review about this sensor, but now I found the cause of my problem. I had trouble getting readings with this sensor from the start and yesterday it stopped reading altogether! Taking a closer look at the device, I found that the plastic cover had shifted and was preventing the needle from moving. The design is such that when you apply pressure to the plastic surface, it moves and eventually prevents the reading from being read. So. Be VERY careful not to put…

Great storage tool in your bike bag.

We are delighted with this purchase. We cycle a lot, both in frequency and in quantity. Most of our tires are tubeless, medium-sized (2.6 inches) and we like to run lower tire pressures, which means we have to be a little more vigilant about leaks, elevation changes and temperature drops. A standalone pressure gauge is great for quickly dialing in and checking pressure without having to use a floor pump (I don't really trust my floor pump's pressure gauge either, sometimes it can get stuck). We
