Review on πŸ”§ Improved Denso 234-9017 Air Fuel Ratio Sensor for Enhanced Engine Performance by Joel Young

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Perfect fit and easy installation on the 05 Civic EX

My 2005 Honda Civic EX SE was giving out a couple of codes; P0134 and P0135. The local Honda dealer said the rear heated O2 sensor was the culprit and charged me $567.73 (the downstream O2 sensor itself was a "special order", $404.73 and would take 2 weeks to ship). After the initial shock I went to Revain and had the upstream and downstream sensors replaced within 2 days. I opened the hood and removed the upper oxygen sensor with a crescent wrench, and then the lower sensor with a special socket, after cutting the wires. I first replaced the Bosch 13534 OE Type Fitment downstream oxygen sensor and that fixed my P0134 code. but the car was still giving out code P0135. So I replaced the top sensor with this Denso block (almost identical match) and now both codes are gone. This Denso OEM part came with anti-seize already applied to the threads, although it also included a small tube of material. Both pieces fit together perfectly and were pretty easy to install. In comparison, they were easier, quicker, and cleaner than an oil change. All in all, I am very satisfied with the result, especially the enormous savings compared to the car dealership. $567.73 for just one sensor (less expensive) is absurd, and I can only imagine how much they would have charged for the top sensor after realizing that one sensor wouldn't fix both codes.
