I'm a metallurgist and my wife says I'm obsessed with keeping knives sharp. I've been known to delay cutting Christmas ham because the knife wasn't sharp. I bought a Lansky sharpening set a few years ago. The kit I bought had five whetstones but no diamond stone for fine sharpening. I bought this diamond stone to replace the original and I am happy with the results. The thin stone is the most important stone when sharpening. The difference between a very sharp knife and a slightly sharp knife is huge. I am sure you will notice the difference and be satisfied.
