Removes material / Nice jagged edge

I think if you are on a budget and using a Lansky system this is the stone to have. Be sure to use oil, it gives you longer life (don't apply too much pressure) and it removes material from a ton of steels like S35V and below without eating your stone. This leaves a nice jagged edge for steels like M4 that like to dig in when cut and don't have a high gloss finish.

I bought a Lansky sharpening set a few years ago. The kit I bought had five whetstones but no diamond stone for fine sharpening. I bought this diamond stone to replace the original and I am happy with the results. The thin stone is the most important stone when sharpening. The difference between a very sharp knife and a slightly sharp knife…
