Review on ⚡ The Ultimate Thexton THE115 Battery Tester: Enhance Reliability and Performance! by Chris Ledet

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Simple, reliable, accurate.

These little hydrometer testers are getting harder and harder to find. I was glad to have found a reliable one. I recently bought a car and found it needed battery service after the battery died. I had a similar tester that was always reliable, but I didn't use it easily for 12-15 years. I found it and immediately after trying to use it, the rubber ball disintegrated from dry rot from sitting in the toolbox for so long. I checked almost every auto parts store in the area and eventually found one at the hardware store, but it was inaccurate and claimed all cells were charged, which I knew was a lie. Just a dollar or two and you get what you pay for! Since it had good reviews, I ordered it right away. I tested it and it is accurate compared to my full size glass hydrometer. It doesn't come with a pretty yellow storage pouch, but it does come in a plastic storage pouch and has a protective red pouch. Made in the USA. The bulb is also a plastic material, so the likelihood of me pulling it out of my toolbox in the next ten years will make it less likely to rot! It's worth a few bucks more for a good, reliable tool. Essential for those who maintain car battery health. You don't always need to know the actual specific gravity, that gives you the percent cell charge. Enough to know if the battery needs attention or not. It is made of clear hard plastic and does not contain the fragile glass found in large float glass hydrometers. I will definitely buy more.
