K&N 69-3513TTK Air Intake Kit

This is my first air intake kit that I have owned and installed in a car. It was a pretty easy setup and the directions are pretty easy. The only issues I had were: 1) I overtightened the filter hose clamp on the end of the intake pipe and bent the pipe a bit, but that was my fault. 2) I found that the support piece that bolts to the 2 lower throttle body bolts was causing the intake port to warp, causing the plastic throttle body to deform slightly and causing the intake plate to stick to the throttle body. . You could feel it when you hit the gas in one spot or on the road. The solution was to drill another hole next to the factory hole to attach the intake pipe to the bracket. 3) I noticed a knock when starting the engine and when starting slowly, which was not there before the installation. I found it to be a cone filter thermal protector that bounces off the battery holder. The solution would be to put a piece of rubber grommet or something in between to seal the rattle, or maybe install an L-clamp to hold it together. I've only had the kit installed for about a month so I don't really understand the MPG benefits, but it probably has more to do with my driving style lately as I usually drive to work at around 80mph. (164 km round trip). So far my best recorded mileage has been 32mpg but I hit that time or 2 before installing this kit. I definitely notice a small increase in HP. and louder intake noise under hard acceleration, which I don't find excessive or bothersome. While I haven't personally seen the 3mpg increase that some have seen, I would still recommend this kit based on performance.
