Brass spiral sponge in a metal cup for easy holding and cleaning. The mug has a carrying handle that rotates from side to side. The handle has a downward curve. With this you can put the soldering iron to rest. The cup also has a downward arc that you can use as well. I didn't check how well the soldering iron lays in the arc because my soldering iron is on end. The sponge cleans the sting quite well. To clean, simply poke the tip a few times with a sponge and you're done. Being brass, this is a low abrasion scrub that will not damage the tip. I have found that using this sponge sometimes leaves small bits on the tip that can be easily removed. Use this cleaning method. They protect your tips from damage, rapid wear and oxidation.
