frequent WiFi loss on my tower PC. I used to connect to my router using Category 5 cable, so I'm not sure if the connection issue is due to structural interference or an unreliable on-board Wi-Fi adapter. I'm only 20 feet from the router, but now a brick faceplate and two insulated walls are getting in the way of my signal. I needed an adapter that could be placed above the floor on the windowsill. This adapter solved my problem. Worked plug and play with my PC running Win 10. The driver CD that came with it is not used/required. I disabled my onboard adapter in windows settings and restarted. I don't remember if I rebooted or not after plugging this adapter in, but it works with windows drivers. For a PC standing on the floor, the cable may be longer and the base may be slightly larger/heavier for stability. It is designed so that a weight/magnet can be attached to the base if desired. Should be suitable for most users. Good product, works as intended, solved my problem.
