Works so well I'm considering buying a second rug for our bed. I bought it for a sofa and it works great. Our dog still jumps on the sofa to bark out the window at anything that moves, but once he hears a loud continuous signal, it doesn't take more than a few seconds to lie down. And she always slept on the couch (and shed hair terribly), but she didn't sleep until I spread the rug. Sometimes I don't even turn it on because my 2 year old might be at home and wants to sit on the couch and she hates it so much that she stays away even when it's off. And I can definitely say that it's the rug that she wears because when I forget to put it down at night before bed, after we've finished in the living room, she doesn't hesitate to get up and curl up. up (don't feel sorry for her, she has a full double sofa bed). Fair warning that the noise is not ultrasonic; You'll hear it when you step on it, and yes, it's constant and very loud. But listening to those 3 seconds a few times a day to get me back on the couch is worth it to me.
