It's definitely not OEM but then I realized what was going on. One of the C-clips broke trying to install. Literally ripped in half. Cheap low quality Chinese steel. Luckily I was able to use one of the old strut C-clamps I removed. Also, the pivot angle/mounting of the upper ball joint was slightly more than what appeared to be the calculated rack. This made it difficult to install the C-Clip. You'll have to lower the hood a bit to reduce the angle. Even then, it was difficult to get the clip to click into place. The struts now work and hold the hood as intended. How long they will last is not known. OEM took 10 years but I doubt they will last 1/3 of that. I think we'll see. But for the price I can live with that.
