I got this fan on a lightning deal so it was hard to refuse. The other reviews here that say low speed is quite windy are absolutely correct. This fan creates a lot of wind, even at the lowest speed - don't expect a light breeze to blow your way - this fan is designed to move air! Assembly is easy, just follow the instructions. Pay particular attention to the thread directions marked on the two large plastic nuts that hold the fan blades in place. They screw in the opposite direction than regular threads. I suspect that some reviewers who had trouble building and discarding this as junk were screwing the threads in the wrong direction. This is done so that the direction of rotation of the fan does not loosen the nuts during further work, and indicates the foresight of the manufacturer. Part quality is good, covers are thick and full, and the base is very heavy to prevent tipping. Everything fits together well and the fan feels solid. The remote control is easy to use and the controls are self-explanatory. I bought this for my elderly dad and it's a good, simple, no-fuss fan without too many fancy options. There is a timer, fan speed and on/off. Light! Would recommend but then again if you want a fan with a slight breeze this isn't it.
