Review on 🪑 Enhance Comfort and Durability with the SUNLITE Steel Pillar Seatpost by Carlos Reyes

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Great for 5 months Great for cycling

This seatpost has worked great for me for about 5 months. I typically ride about 15 miles a week (I commute to and from work). Today, during a long ride, the seatpost started to flex a lot. (At this point I had to walk about 7 miles). When I got home the seatpost was bent at almost a 45 degree angle. It felt like I was riding a small kids bike and the seat was barely over the rear wheel. (Yes, it was a funny sight). This post is still relatively cheap, and as other reviewers point out, even at this price point, it's difficult to find a similar product. This is probably because this product extends the seatpost length limit when made out of aluminum or cheap steel. Also, I'm a taller person at 230lbs, so I probably put a little more weight on the seatpost. I just ordered another to replace one that was severely bent, but plan on carrying a spare seatpost for longer rides just in case this happens again. (Original seat post from my bike). I'd rather not attempt to ride another 7 miles with a badly bent seatpost. I will say it helped my bike a lot before the seat post was bent. I'm 6ft 3" and this seatpost gave me the extra clearance I needed to comfortably ride my 26" Schwinn Sidewinder. (After putting the stock seatpost back on the bike, I definitely felt the difference: pedaling is harder and I feel like I'm riding a kid's bike.) If I could find a similar product that was reasonably priced and more durable, I would definitely use it.

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • I won't say anything
