Well worth it. I carry 4 bikes most of the time and just got back from a trip of about 450 miles and am very happy with this rack. It's secure, you can lock the bikes if you need to leave them and I mentioned it's secure. The initial setup was pretty easy. I did it myself in about an hour or so. It folds up if you want to leave it on your car. The hooks that hold your bikes securely also have a locking function. You can be sure that your bikes will not be stolen if you have to leave them there for a while. My insecure personality still puts a cable chain on them all. I have a 2016 GMC Acadia and have used a regular 4 bike bike rack that holds the bikes suspended with a top bar, but I always got nervous riding the bike. It will move and bounce like crazy. I wasn't a fan of the rubber bands companies use to tie down bikes. This platform carrier from Stromberg Carlson is great at half the price of other similar carriers on the market, yet just as strong and useful as they are. I would definitely recommend it to everyone I know!
