Well worth it. I carry 4 bikes most of the time and just got back from a trip of about 450 miles and am very happy with this rack. It's secure, you can lock the bikes if you need to leave them and I mentioned it's secure. The initial setup was pretty easy. I did it myself in about an hour or so. It folds up if you want to leave it on your car. The hooks that hold your bikes securely also have a locking function. You can be sure that your bikes will not be stolen if you have to leave them there…

This stand pushed ALL the right buttons but there was a mix up which was quickly rectified by a call to Stromberg Carlson. The picture and instructions showed that the bike's clamping mechanisms were a locking ratchet, and what we originally got was a friction "wing nut" and safety pin. When explaining the problem to Stomberg Carlson's customer service, they quickly explained that there had been some changes and offered to send all the necessary parts to fix the problem.
