One morning I started my truck. The night before was one of those really cold nights here in Long Island, New York as temperatures dropped to the mid 20's. I started the car and my check engine light came on, the traction lights came on and the stability light came on. In the past when I've had CEL I've always changed the cap first and seen if that helps. After searching the web for my particular machine and fixing the issue, it seemed like changing the cap would be a good start. I changed the cap, disconnected the battery for 30 minutes and after that everything was back to normal.
