I bought a subwoofer (mj acoustics 400-sr) in England. It was hooked up to AC in the UK. Instead of sending it back and getting one for AC in the US I decided to try a transformer. After a long research I decided on the Goldsource ST-1000 Pro. I chose it because it's simple and only requires an on/off switch to operate it. To use it as a step-up transformer, simply connect a 110/120V AC power source to the 100/120V input. There is a universal outlet and a Schuko outlet on the front panel. The universal output accepts a US Type B plug. The transformer is quiet/transparent and I think it can provide another level of isolation/protection for the subwoofer.
