Do not buy. Build quality is great, but internals are much worse. Testing with an external USB 3.1 Gen2 SSD with USB-A and USB-C cables. Without the adapter, when I plug the SSD directly into my Macbook Pro and use the BlackMagicDesign Drive Speed Test, I get 750MB/s write speed. This is the basic level. I connected a Nonda USB-A to USB-C adapter using just a USB-A to SSD cable and got 750MB/s. I set up a Nonda adapter with this adapter to connect directly to my Macbook Pro and get 30MB/s (no typo). With my USB-A to SSD cable and connected to a USB 3.1 Gen1 hub, I get around 400MB/s. With. I returned the USB-C cable and added this adapter, Boom 30MB/s. It's too slow. Clearly not for sale.
