Review on Cuisinart DCC-3200P1 Perfectemp 14-Cup Programmable 🏺 Coffee Maker with Glass Carafe in Stainless Steel by Jessica Reed

Beautiful machine, delicious coffee and POURING SIMPLY EXCELLENT

This review is for the DCC-3400 coffee maker with thermograph. This machine makes delicious coffee, has simple, intuitive controls, doesn't take up much counter space, and looks *really* good. I recently bought this to replace a similar Cuisinart I've had for over 12 years. And the previous one still worked fine - it just got dirty after so many years of daily use. I prefer to use a vacuum jug because I usually stretch the jug over several hours and the coffee gets a burnt taste if it is heated with the hot plate for a long time. The main advantage of a vacuum jug (apart from looking very nice) is that it keeps the coffee hot by insulating the carafe instead of constantly heating the carafe. So there are three things you need to know: (1) the plate it's sitting on doesn't get hot; (2) the coffee in the carafe loses heat throughout the day; It's physics and it's inevitable. However, it only loses heat very slowly. The coffee stays hot for several hours after brewing throughout the morning, and even at midday I would describe it as very warm - that's 9-10 hours after brewing and would be burnt coffee residue if heated this directly. long and (3) the lid is designed to fit tightly which reduces heat loss, but you don't have to twist or open anything to pour your mug. Because of this, the coffee flows slower than if the spout were simply open. But to be honest the difference is that the cup fills up in 4 seconds instead of 2. I don't understand the claims made in other reviews about spilling while pouring unless they turn the carafe upside down to try and get it pouring faster. The spout pours well and I noticed that this model actually pours a little faster than the previous one I had. If the spout were open wider, the carafe would lose heat faster. The only way to seal it even better is to design a lid that has to be opened when you want to pour out (like a thermos) and that still loses heat faster each time it's opened. I feel the design of this carafe strikes the right balance between the seal needed to keep warm and the ease of pouring. Another advantage is that the carafe doesn't have to be in the coffee maker to stay warm - when I'm serving coffee in a group I can keep the coffee pot right on the table or somewhere else. A vacuum jug might not be for everyone, but if you need a cup of coffee that stays hot for hours without a burnt taste, I highly recommend this machine.
