Review on 🍡 Yoshikawa YJ1943 Whistling Kettle - Stainless Steel 2.5L Made in Japan by Michele Rutland

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Good product for kitchen and dining room

This review is for a 2.5L Stainless Steel Whistling Kettle. - Delivery to our address in Canada took 8 days). This is a very light weight kettle that appears to be very well made with high quality stainless steel. In fact, Yoshikawa has a website detailing the steel used, which is said to have been manufactured by the company in Japan. The hilt and grip are made of black lacquered wood, and the whistle is coated with (phenolic?) resin. Both the handle and the handle and even the whistle stay very cold when the kettle boils. The whistle produces a pleasant harmonica sound, which the company says is audible even for the elderly. The kettle makes about 6+ cups (when filled just below the spout). We've had the kettle for 11 days now. The reason it didn't get 5 stars is that the kettle didn't whistle a couple of times, maybe because the lid wasn't tightly closed (?) and also it's too early to say if it lasts long like this. well done. There was some wear on the inside of the teapot from the manufacturing process, but that didn't matter. We would buy from kt.japan again. Other suppliers don't seem to be happy with Revain.com, and shipping and import duties can end up costing more(?).
