Breathable fabric, plastic in different thicknesses

The knee and elbow pads in this set are very similar in design and material. The plastic part is flexible (compressible) side to side but stiffer top to bottom. It is very difficult for direct impact. The plastic itself is thinner than other pads we've had in the past. It has nice padding behind the high-impact plastic for shock absorption when dropped. The knee pads also have a padded sports fabric sleeve that must be worn. It's ok to wear in front of skates or shoes and under pants or with shorts. This is less useful if you plan to wear it under or over clothing. The same with the elbow pads. The fabric is breathable, but again, the size of the sleeve limits the wearing options. The sleeve is good in that it offers a screened layer under the shoulder straps. The wrist guard is made of thicker, stiffer plastic and has no glove sleeve, just two straps. This makes sense because the wrist moves less and requires less flexibility than other joints. As long as the case doesn't get in the way of how you intend to use them, they're good quality. This is the perfect size for my 6 year old inline skate.
