I bought this product twice because of the same problem. Buttons work fine. Replacing the key and internals is not difficult at all; However, the spring that causes the key to pop out when the silver button is pressed does not work with the spare key. I had to turn it several times but the key still doesn't come out. Just to make sure I'm doing it right I looked it up on YouTube and you really have to turn the spring until it's tight enough for the key to pop out. 1-2 turns were not enough to open the key, but after 2 full turns, if you try to turn it again, the spring will crumble and fail. So the key works but the spring function doesn't work. A minor issue, but it means you have to remove the key from the case every time you want to start the car, which is annoying at times. If your keys are junk, try just replacing the face of the key with the face of the spare key and DO NOT remove the key from the original key fob. But if your original key is completely worn out like mine, don't buy this key unless you don't mind taking your key out of the fob. Updated 10/01/2021. After using the key for a month, the key somehow got better when I jumped out of the case. If I could I would give it a 2.5 out of 5 but as the key seems to work better over time I'm giving it another star.
