Review on πŸ“ž Redefine Communication with Command Communications HC3000 HotCall Plus: Now Discontinued by Manufacturer by Dino Burks

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Old, possibly obsolete, but DEFINITELY not obsolete

I bought the HC3000 a few years ago and haven't gone online without it since. There are a few quirks, but mostly they are related to your phone and ISP or settings. It always rings twice correctly (and only twice. LOUD!) when someone calls over the network. This slows my connection down by about 5 seconds during a call, but that's nothing to complain about, you can only expect so much from a phone line at once. Answering it and speaking for more than a few seconds will lose your internet connection, but it does a great job of not missing a call. The only downside (lost a star for that) is the lack of Call Waiting ID support, which it should have. I never managed to display it with an external box I bought and the phone I connected also has a CWCID. I'm going to switch to a 4000 model with the built in display and see if it works with my setup. In comparison, if you don't have any of these, have to choose between disabling call waiting and giving each caller a "busy signal" or disconnecting from the network when someone calls, this is a must-have accessory for any dial-up User. By the way: The only difference between the 2000 and 3000 models is the additional caller ID with call waiting in 3K and the device color. both were sold at the same time, but the 3K was slightly more expensive than the 2K.
