READ THIS FIRST! Installation Tips

***EDIT*** The photos mentioned in the review cannot be uploaded. Excuse me. ***EDIT #2*** - Finally pics to upload, hope they help! Bought them for a Ford F250. Both rear doors stopped working about a week apart. I struggled at first and almost gave up as I couldn't slide the parts into the sheath far enough. The cable was always too short to work. Then I realized what needs to be done to make them work perfectly. There are no instructions but there are many videos on YouTube on how to do this repair, full explanation from start to finish. I recommend watching some of these videos before you start understanding what it's all about. Here's what helped me, I bet it will make your job easier. - FIRST - understand that each door needs 4 parts. Each door has 2 latches, top and bottom. They are both attached to the handle mechanism with a cable, meaning there are 2 cables. Each end of the cable needs a stop to function properly. So each cable needs 2 pieces, and each door has 2 pieces, which means 4 pieces per door. SECOND - Each door's top latch requires an odd shaped piece. This is the one that isn't fully rounded at the end. Since the latch is made this way, you have to push it in and then twist it to hold it in place. I also wrapped some tape to secure the piece of metal to the latch to keep it from twisting or falling out. -THIRD- ***THIS IS IMPORTANT*** When you remove the old rubber bumpers from the cables you will notice that there are ridges where they came from, taped/glued to the skin (see the red circle area in the Illustration). YOU MUST GRIND IT, otherwise the metal parts won't be able to slide far enough and the cable will be too short. I used 80 grit paper and it took some effort, but smoothed out nicely without damaging the cable jacket. Sand it until nothing is sticking out, and even a little more than that will help. ALSO - use a small amount of lube on the shell and the part will slide more easily. It will still take some effort, but there will be progress.- FOURTH - Slide the metal piece until the end of the shell (blue circle area) aligns with the notch in the metal piece (green circle area). This will ensure there is enough cable to attach after you have inserted the metal parts into the latches and door mechanism. If you don't do this, the cable will be too tight and will not work. When fitting the metal piece onto the sleeve, it is easier if you thread the cable through the slot on the narrow end of the piece and then snap the piece onto the sleeve. Do not try to fully insert the cable into the slot before attaching it. Can't say enough good things about this product. At first I was ready to refuse, and then I realized that grinding the shell and a little bit of lubrication will do all that's possible. Much luck!
