Review on πŸ”΅ DROK Blue~Tooth Board: Portable, 5V-24V Audio Receiver for DIY Home Sound System with Micro USB Port by Norman Costello

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Nice little home theater module

I bought the module to fit my old BOSE Acoustimass system. Cable to the preamp input and connected the device. Set the tone controls to neutral and the volume to about 3/4. When the system is turned on, the Bluetooth device automatically enters pairing mode, making it easy to pair the device with almost anything. When it connects I hear a notification sound through the device and then I'm good to go. The reason for disabling 1 star is because the device is not receiving music or audio. You may hear digital hiss/hum coming from the speakers in a quiet room. Thus, the Bluetooth communication is received by the repeater section. This can be avoided by better shielding between the BT module and the preamp section, which I can try later. You cannot shield the BT module completely because the built-in antenna is installed on the board. However, you can add an external antenna via the U-FL connector on the board. Relocating the antenna to a different location can help with the noise. Apart from the digital noise in total silence, the device is excellent and the sound quality is good overall. I am happy with the device. By the way: By adding a microphone to the built-in 3.5mm input jacks, the BT module also becomes a hands-free telephone system.

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • Nothing here
