I bought this because I needed a drain plug on the rear differential of my 4WD Astro. As a bonus I find the additional support of the differential bearing caps and the hot look. It's an easy replacement if you're not afraid of oil, and it's probably time to add some good synthetic gear lube to your diff. The filler plug is not a level plug, you should still use a factory filler plug. The only caveat is unscrewing the drain plug, putting part of the gear on the threads and putting it back in. I did not do it. and after having a small leak I had to drain the oil and seal the cork. But still I think it's a worthwhile addition for those who take pride in their engine.
