Baldwin B31 Heavy Duty Oil Filter Rating: This Baldwin filter works well for use with a conventional filter. The only downside is the use of cellulose filter media which does not appear to contain any synthetic or glass materials to improve filter performance. It doesn't filter the oil as finely as a newer premium filter that contains synthetic material. This filter is not designed to last beyond the normal drain interval for modern vehicles - it is NOT designed to extend life with synthetic oils. It's a good long lasting filter, but it's not considered "high tech" like some of the comparably priced filters available today.
